The staff was friendly and efficient. The check-in times are flexible.
You're not going to stay here for a 5 star experience. It's somewhere to lay your head if you are in the area or passing through, which was exactly why I was there. My fiance and I were visiting the crab capital of the world to eat crabs and go out on the water. This hotel was the closest to our location.
I am staying here now and have had an excellent experience. As said by others the staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean. The evening view of the harbor and the fisherman coming and going is truly relaxing.

All of that being said, its a good option from the few lodging options available in this area. One thing that I noticed was that a lot of the other motels were set out on the main road. This one was not, which was nice. The bathroom was clean. The sheets looked clean. There was a stained sofa chair that we would have done without. They even had a nice balcony overlooking the marina.
Not sure why, but on our check out day, there were a number of fruit flies in our room. Not sure where they came from but, I am sure if we made a fuss, they would have moved us.
Overall, we got what we paid for. P.S. The Crab and Cruise was why we were there and it was amazingly fun. Check it our if you like seafood and fun!

I've been coming to Somers Cove Motel for several years. The rooms are clean the location by the marina is great! The air conditioning is amazing! The pool is beautiful and the staff can't be nicer.
The place is very old and run down. Lots of bugs in the room, ants, spiders, you name it. The pool was the only really nice thing about the place. Staff was generally rude and does nothing about complaints. If you are looking for a place that is cheap and full of loud, obnoxious guests, look no farther. Felt very unsafe. Very dirty grounds. I cut my foot open on a beer cap in the grass. Cigarette butts everywhere. Trash blowing across the lawn. Rusty grills and lotta garbage around the pool house. Just not a good place for anyone who does not want random weirdos knocking on your door at 2 A.M. asking if "This Cookie room."
I stayed here with 3 of my grandchildren. We had a very good time. The price was good.The rooms were clean and smelled clean. The pool was great. A very laid back atmosphere; Very close to places to eat, shop and play. There is a playground and beach very close. The kids loved it and want to go back. I will definitely stay here again.
